Dear Members and Friends,

It’s convention time in Tennessee! Our theme this year is Gone Country. You never know. We may have some good old boot stomping country line dancing to get convention started in true Tennessee fashion. You don’t want to miss it!

The National Federation of the Blind Tennessee’s 2018 Convention will be held April 6-8 at Smyrna Tennessee’s Hilton Garden Inn, located at 2631 Highwood Boulevard, right outside of Nashville’s city limits. Rooms will be $114 per night, including a full breakfast buffet. Call the Hilton directly at 615-355-6262 and ask for the Federation of the Blind block.

Join us to learn about what’s going on in the blindness field throughout the state and the nation. Pre-registration is $10 while Banquet tickets are $35. Send checks to our state treasurer at:

Evelyn Hogue
1429 Reata Pass
Memphis, TN 38109

Individuals may also register and pay online here on our website.

Our convention will include participants from Aira, various guide dog schools from around the country, Low Vis GPS, who will have our hotel mapped out for indoor navigation, the NFB Sports and Recreation Division, and so much more!

Don’t forget to throw in your suitcase canes that you no longer use to donate to the worldwide cane distribution initiative You Cane Give. You can give your old canes to blind people around the world who may have never had the freedom of a cane before.

One federationist commented recently that his favorite part of the convention is “seeing old friends and learning about the latest legislation.” Another longtime member stated, “I like hearing from the national representative and when we put our musical talent on display at the banquet. I also enjoy hearing the Why I am a Federationist presentations and the scholarship winners”.

For some, convention is a life changing experience. We look forward to seeing all of you soon for an exciting, up building, educational, and fun convention!

Gratefully,
James Brown, President
National Federation of the Blind Tennessee
